Standing Room Only at the Sea Breeze Cafe.
1/1/2010What a great way to kiss 2009 goodbye. We played to a sold out crowd on the beach in Aptos for New Year's eve. The crowd was lively and very engaged. Two girls sang "cheeseburger in Paradise" on stage with George. After counting down the new year, we toasted each other and then treated the crowd with "Why don't we get Drunk and Screw" followed by a searing version of "Tequila".
I managed to hand my camera off to someone and have a few photos snapped. I like theses detail shots that came out of it. there is a shot of the two girls singing under the mermaid painting. I also like the image of John playing with the orange star behind his head. I haven't gotten the ultimate photo yet of George doing what he does best with the crowd. It's a good thing he has a cordless microphone because he takes off and leaves the stage pretty often.

Lake Merritt Night Herons

There are some very tame Night Herons down at Lake Merritt. It is the closet I have ever gotten to these birds. they stood and lined up and let me stick the camera right up next to them this is the result. I am going to work on a digital painting based off of this image.
