Standing Room Only at the Sea Breeze Cafe.

1/1/2010

What a great way to kiss 2009 goodbye. We played to a sold out crowd on the beach in Aptos for New Year's eve. The crowd was lively and very engaged. Two girls sang "cheeseburger in Paradise" on stage with George. After counting down the new year, we toasted each other and then treated the crowd with "Why don't we get Drunk and Screw" followed by a searing version of "Tequila".

I played drums recently with the UC Berkeley Student Choir. That was a great test of my abilities.

This is me channeling Peter Buck in the now defunct REM tribute band, "Chronic Town". This band performed at Slims and at Bimbo's 365 in North Beach.

We were a regular opener for the U2 Tribute band "Zoo Station" and the Police tribute band "Stung". We also opened for such bands as "Tainted Love" and "Mandonna".

Mandonna was an interesting experience. they have been described as a uniquely San Franciscan band. They are an all male MAdonna tribute band. The lead singer has a full beard and dresses up in MAdonna costumes. go figure.

This is our singer, Michael. He did a perfect Michael Stipe. We were really a good band.

No really, hear me out. We're both welsh. this is a picture of me at 16 and DG at approximately 18. We are both at least part Welsh. At 16, I was completely absorbed in his music but I didn't have a clue what he looked like. kinda coincidental huh?
