Another milestone in design of Site

At last I can step away from the site and blog. This has been a big effort. I have a huge backlog of material and I have been putting off designing a site for a very long time. What I have now is a great place to upload writing. Pictures and Music.

The layout is still full of quirks and the styling needs work, but I now have a custom cms that works for my needs.

Header and page layout finished.

It works. I am now able to update my blog and all my social media simultaneously. However in order to send a picture along with it I need to find code for attaching files to email via php.

Once again I find an article talking about what is important in web design. Content. There are two different functions of web design. One function is to create new customers and build communities. the other function is to present content to an already existing community. both concepts are valuable. here is a link to the article.

Writer's block is over.

I have been suffering from writer's block for two days. Actually it is more aptly called "designer's block" Today I was staring at my screen for hours trying to get started on a new look and feel for my site. I finally decided to get out the door and go visit the local open space to walk around and clear my head. Sure enough by the time I got home, I was humming along with ideas. Thanks to some rocks and nature, I have a new design. Of course I paid for my procrastination by staying up til 4 AM coding, but hey, you gotta love web design.

This site features some of the best of my new found php skills along with everything I am learning now as a student of visual communications at Las Positas College. I am using my life experiences as fodder for my databases and scripts.

I am working on a new sport I like to call "i-phlogging" which is the act of blogging entirely from an iphone. I am writing some individualized programs utilizing the imap functions of PHP to convert emails directly into site content. Also look for live streaming of my client's solar array. There will be many ore updates so be sure to stay tuned.
